New recruit Didier Digard scored a brilliant long-range winner as Middlesbrough beat Carlisle 2-1 in Cumbria on Tuesday night.
The sides had been level after Danny Carlton equalised following Jeremie Aliadiere's 46th-minute opener.
But French midfielder Digard, who joined from Paris Saint Germain earlier this summer, smashed home the decisive goal from 30 yards to earn Boro the win.
